We (12 of us) ran the wasatch back a couple of weekends ago. It was a PARTY- all the way. I ran 3 different legs a 3.4 mile, 6.2 mile, and another 3.4 miler. Talk about a blast. My favorite run was the 6.2 miler I ran that one in the middle of the night around 2am. I ran around echo reservoir near heber and park city. The moon was full, the air was crisp and I had Jack Johnson playing in my ipod. It was awesome- quite the moment! Our team was named Valley Babefest 08'. These girls have been planning this event long before we moved here. At the last moment one of the girls had to drop out, so they asked me if I wanted to take her place, I felt delighted and was happy to have the chance. Anyways, this is an email from Kelli my friend who ran in the race with me, she has a gift of writing that is so hilarious, I could never sum it up like she has done so I am going to share with you her email talking about some of the moments during the race. Maybe, it's just funny to me but I thought I'd share it with you anyways.
Here are some of my highlighted moments, I ramble a bit so feel free to tune out:

> One of the funniest moments for me was when Kristen was running her 7.1 leg and it was so hot and she was about 4 miles into and she looked over to ask, where the girl from Quincy’s team was!!! Right then and there I knew we were in it to win it, because she had never even heard of Quincy until this race, but I could see the fire in her eyes and she wanted the sweet, sweaty smell of victor!!! Another one of my favorite moments was when Larissa was banging down my front door of my house to say that van#1 was on their last runner and ...... the rest it a little blurry because what erupted then was chaos, we all started running in circles to get our bearings and find our shoes so that we could get in the car ASAP. As I recall, one or more jumped into the car w/out running shoes. Then the pressure was on. The next hours in van #2 played out like this: us trying to figure out where the **** we were going, recalling everything we left behind, trying to get through to van#1 to tell us where to go, thinking we were going the right way, only to get new directions and then have the cell phone cut out again and again. The drama played out like a thriller novel. Morgan exit will forever hold a place of drama in the memory of van #2. But, really the crisis hit an all time crescendo when we decided to drive against the race, in the pitch dark with runners on the right side of the road and cars blinding us on the left side of the road, not to mention all of the weird looks and honks we got. Then, in a cloud of dramatic dust, we finally arrived to the exchange point; Larissa pulled right up front and center, the cop was speechless. He gave us a weird look and literally he was speechless. We got out, got Ali all ready, turned around only to find that Barbie had basically just flashed the entire race, nipples and all. It was a classic moment where all the elements of a good drama, where perfectly in sync. What a beautiful memory!!

> Another lasting memory is personal one, but as I passed Quincy’s team at Rockport dam and I was getting a good lead on them I could hear, literally hear the chariots of fire music playing in my head. I knew I had arrived as a runner. My moment had arrived….it was to be a grand a glorious finish…….my team would great me at the exchange point with congratulatory huggies and kissies to tell me I wasn’t the weak link after all. And then, if they had the strength I knew they would hoist me on their shoulders and parade me around exchange point 24. It was my one moment in time. I was on a runner’s high. I thought my van was pulling up to tell me I looked like naked girl running (i.e. van #1 naked girl is this girl that we kept seeing who basically ran in her underwear, but had a killer body), but instead they told me nobody was at exchange point #24 and that I could slow down and take it easy. The record music scratched in my head, the chariots were gone and when I got to exchange 24 the lady calling out the numbers kept calling 295 as if to mock me. The irony or the whole situation is that that was our biggest fear of that happening to you at exchange #12, so even though I thought my moment in time was lost; it came back eight hours later as I ran that last leg. That last leg was truly the most incredible running moment of my life. The beginning of it is a pathway through park city. It runs along the back of buildings, parks, tennis courts etc and on the other side is a little river. The coolest part about it was so many people were on the first part of the trail cheering me on, giving me high fives saying I could do it, I even choked up a bit when I saw a gay couple walking and as I ran by them, they held up their little shitzu in the air as if to salute my efforts. Then the cop stopped the traffic for me when he saw me coming it was sooo cool!! The last part was extremely hot, and there was no water, it was truly brutal and very exhilarating at the same time knowing that the next time I saw you guys would be at the finish line!!! When I turned that corner and saw my husband there with a drink and then saw all of you waiting and cheering our team on, it was way better than what I had imagined happening at exchange #12. I was so honored to be such a part of such an amazing group of babes. God Bless you and God bless the two gay guys and their little dog.

> I want to thank all the babes for digging deep and putting in that extra 10% to beat Quincy blood's team. You know me, I always have to have a goal and that was great to have everyone work together to accomplish it. Also I want to apologize to sherene for the stinky coke burp at exchange 12, but it was all I could do to keep the barf in.

Hey Larisa I loved your post. How awesome to say that you did Ragnar Hill, and from what my cousin Kelli said you rocked it! You are a babe among babes. Go Babefest 09!
